Personal doctors

At Pitsmoor surgery we try to operate a ‘personal doctor’ system. This means that generally you see the same doctor when you attend for a routine appointment. The advantage is that one doctor would get to know you well and everyone is clear which doctor is responsible for managing a problem. Obviously if your usual doctor is away and you have an urgent problem you will be seen by the first available doctor.

Changing doctors within the practice

Sometimes you may wish to see a doctor other than your personal doctor for a particular problem, e.g. you may wish to see a doctor of the same sex. If this is a temporary arrangement just speak to the receptionist about it. If you find that you are not getting on with your doctor you may change to another doctor within the practice. Again you should speak to the receptionist.
